Hypermobility Syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

Have you been told that you have “loose joints” or ligament laxity that may be contributing to your pain? Do you have widespread pain? Do you have a history of dislocating or subluxing joints with or without trauma? Has traditional physical therapy, massage, and exercise made your symptoms worse?

You may have hypermobility issues. Excessive movement in joints may lead to musculoskeletal pain. Traditional exercises and treatment may increase the symptoms. The physical therapists at Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Inc. are familiar with patients that demonstrate hypermobility syndrome. We offer a different approach to help stabilize your joints, strengthen you muscles and reduce your pain.

Other terms you may have heard are Joint Hypermobility Syndrome; EDS Type III, and Hypermobile EDS. EDS is the abbreviation for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
